BEST: Get Away to the Gardens

Enjoy a day visiting three popular garden attractions in Rockford IL.  A description of the gardens is provided below.  We will travel via Bethany       bus (and van if needed) departing at  8 am from Bethany and returning around 8 pm.
 

Cost for the trip is $25 per person which includes transportation, garden entrance fees and a light lunch (dinner on your own).

Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens

Situated along the banks of our beautiful Rock River, Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens brings the tropics to the Midwest. The facility is the third largest conservatory in Illinois, offering an 11,000-square-foot plant exhibition area complete with water features, seating areas, and sculptures, all in a tropical plant setting.  The beauty continues outdoors with the Eclipse Lagoon, complete with two fountains and a waterfall, pedestrian bridge, patio areas, and walkway connecting the Conservatory to the Sinnissippi Rose Garden.

Klehm Arboretum and Botanical Gardens

Enjoy the garden collections including a Hosta Garden, Peony Garden, Rhododendron & Azalea Garden, Contemporary Perennial Garden, Grass Garden, Prehistoric Garden and five Demonstration Gardens. The Demonstration Gardens include a Butterfly Garden, Vegetable Garden, Daylily Garden and two other theme gardens.

On the Arboretum walk  some of the trees you will see include buckeyes, larch, maples, beech, firs, spruce, oaks, pines and many more exotic and unusual trees.
