The Sunday morning worship ministry at Bethany exists to glorify God by providing opportunities for the family of faith to express adoration, praise, and gratitude to the God of our salvation (Psalm 149:1).

Praise The Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, and sing His praise in the congregation of the godly ones.

Praise Team/Worship Band

Participation on the worship team is by application and audition. Applications are due every August with a requested one-year commitment for those invited to join. Worship team members commit to serving in both services on the Sunday morning they’re scheduled to serve, along with attending Monday night rehearsals. They lead the congregation in a mixture of contemporary worship songs and traditional hymns.

Sound Team

Sound technicians must be 18 or older and trained on sound equipment. Team members serve once week during the month: Monday evening rehearsal (6:45 to 8:30) and the following Sunday morning worship services (6:30am to 12:30pm). A one-year commitment is requested. Team members also help out with weddings, conferences, funerals, concerts, and children’s events. If you haven’t been trained in audio equipment previously, but would still like to get involved – contact us! We’d love to have you shadow someone from our team to share about this ministry, and to help you begin learning about running sound.

Our choir is open to all adults who love to worship the Lord though singing and praise.  Choir members are expected to regularly attend weekly choir rehearsals on Wednesdays from 7:45 pm to 9:15 pm. Childcare can be provided upon request.

The choir sings approximately every other week on Sunday mornings.  Choir members are encouraged to sing for the service they attend, or both services! There are no tryouts or prerequisites. Individuals are welcome to join the choir at any time during the year on Wednesday evenings and start singing on Sunday mornings when they feel ready. The choir sings a variety of choral music, from southern gospel to classical to contemporary.

Our orchestra is open to anyone in high school or above. Haven’t picked up an instrument for a number of years? Not a problem! Many of our members decided to start playing again after several years’ hiatus. All instruments are welcome! There are no tryouts or prerequisites; just join rehearsals in room 805 on Sunday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:30 pm. The orchestra plays several types of orchestral arrangements, but most are to accompany the choir. The orchestra plays for both Sunday morning services about twice a month.

Joyful Noise Instrumental Ensemble

Joyful Noise is a new ensemble for orchestral instrumentalists with the purpose of giving players of all ages and most ability levels the opportunity to use their instruments together for the glory of God. Intended as a supplement to lessons or training, Joyful Noise is for those who have been playing their instrument for at least a year, haven’t played in some time, or play regularly and would enjoy playing alongside others in a mentorship-like capacity. Rehearsals for a 6-week season will take place at a new time: Wednesdays, 4:30 – 5:15pm, beginning October 4, 2017. For more information, contact Deb Peterson (
