“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.’” Revelation 21:3-4 (Context: Revelation 21:1-8)
Eternity with Jesus will be better than we could ever imagine! This passage offers a beautiful picture of our future life with Christ and is an assurance for believers to rest in. As we wait for this future, we are called to keep our minds set on what is eternal. “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away” (Luke 21:33). Though it is impossible to understand exactly what joy awaits us, His word says we will be in perfect communion with God and his children in a world fully restored and sustained by Jesus.
