So Peter opened his mouth and said; “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.” Acts 10:34-35 (Context: Acts 10:1-48)
People tend toward partiality. Sometimes we’re partial to skin tones, styles, age groups, accents, economic stations…the list goes on. These days it is especially fashionable to be partial to people with particular ideas. It’s easy to prefer people like ourselves. God shows no partiality. His arms are open to anyone who would fear and obey Him.
- When has the partiality of others hurt me? What were they partial about?
- What do I tend to be partial toward or against?
- “Father, please forgive me for judging people with human wisdom. Please give me Your eyes and Your heart for everyone You bring into my life today.”
