Sermon Notes

TAKE A BREATH: LETTING GOD BE GOD
Psalm 131

Only one can shoulder the weight of being God; and it isn’t me.

Three ways to enjoy the refreshing peace of letting God be God:

#1 ____________________ YOUR PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE. (1)

#2 ____________________ YOUR INNER PANIC. (2)

#3 ____________________ YOUR FUTURE HOPE. (3)

FOR REFLECTION

  • What kinds of trials and thoughts cause you to be anxious?
  • What is the difference between a soul that is like a weaned child, one that is like an un-weaned child?

FOR DISCUSSION

  • What are some ways that you tend to trust your personal perspective too much?
  • What kinds of thoughts, promises, and past provisions of God, might be helpful to recall in moments of stress?
  • Who might you have opportunity to encourage towards the contented peace of trusting God?
