Weekly Schedule
Fall is the perfect time to jump into a community group for the first time. If you’ve never joined a group, or haven’t attended in a while, now is the time to find a group of believers to do life with. Go to bethanycentral.org/groups to learn more.
Awana is the discipleship heart of our Children’s Ministry—where kids are challenged to grow in their faith and make it their own. Registration is open!
We’re also looking for new leaders to join our Wednesday night ministry. We have openings from the nursery age through 5th grade. If you want to invest in the next generation, this is a great place to serve. Training and support are provided—just bring a heart to disciple kids! Go to bethanycentral.org/awana to learn more.
Join us for a full day of worship and connection. We’ll have a single outdoor service at 9:30am, with fellowship and refreshments beforehand. There will be no ABCs, Sunday School, or Children’s Church that morning, but nursery will be available. Be sure to bring a lawn chair for outdoor seating.
Then come back at 7:00pm for our Outdoor Night of Worship, followed by ice cream and more time to connect as we close out the summer together.
Announcements
The Malawi team will share highlights from their recent ministry trip. Hear firsthand about the impactful outreach, ministry, and transformative experiences they had. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with the team, hear about their experience and support global outreach.
First get your child registered to be ready for materials pick-up night. Then stop by the church to pick up everything your child will need for this year any time from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Go to bethanycentral.org/awana to register.
The New York City team will share highlights from their recent outreach trip. Come hear how God worked through tools like Story Walls, evangelistic prayer, and gospel conversations—and how their experience shaped hearts for the Gospel.
MOMents is a group for moms with children aged 0 to Kindergarten, offering community, growth, and support. They meet every other Friday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, with childcare provided. Each session includes breakfast, a creative activity, and discussions led by guest speakers on topics relevant to our lives. For more details and to register, go to bethanycentral.org/moments.
Kick off the new school year with us! This is a great opportunity for the whole family to start the year strong. Parents will meet their student’s small group leaders, hear ministry updates, connect with other parents, and spend time in prayer for the year ahead. While parents connect, 6th–12th grade students will enjoy their own activities, and childcare will be provided for 5th grade and under. Go to bethanycentral.org/parentnight to register.
Icebreaker: If you could know one thing about the future, what would you want to know and why? Would you tell anyone about it or keep it a secret?
Discussion 1: When a disciple admired the temple, Jesus responded by predicting its destruction. Why do you think Jesus responded this way? What might this moment teach us about placing our hope in religious structures or physical things?
Application 1: Jesus reminds us not to anchor our faith in impressive but temporary things. Are there “temples” in your life — things that feel secure or impressive — that you might be relying on more than God? What would it look like to shift your trust back to Him? How can we worship God without a “temple made with hands” (Acts 7:48)?
Discussion 2: Jesus warns about false messiahs, wars, and disasters, but says these are “the beginning of birth pains.” What do you think Jesus means by that phrase? How should believers respond in the face of a harsh world full of sin and pain?
Application 2: It’s easy to be overwhelmed by global events or uncertainty. How can you stay grounded in hope and truth when fear rises? What practical things help you remember that God is in control, even in chaos?
Discussion 3: Jesus warns that His followers will face rejection, betrayal, and hatred, but calls them to endure. Why do you think endurance is such a key part of being a disciple? How might this call have encouraged Mark’s first readers who were facing real persecution?
Application 3: Enduring in faith doesn’t always mean dramatic sacrifice — it can mean staying faithful in small, daily ways. Where in your life do you need endurance right now (even if mundane)? How can you lean on God’s strength rather than your own?
