Sunday Worship
Weekly Schedule
If you are ready to publicly declare that Jesus is your Lord and Savior, baptism is your next step. If you are interested in baptism, or simply meeting with a pastor to talk more about the importance of and steps for getting baptized, go to bethanycentral.org/baptism.
The best way to know what’s going on here at Bethany is by signing up for our weekly digital bulletin email that comes out every Friday morning. You can go to bethanycentral.org/bulletin to sign up or use the QR code on the screen. You can also always grab a paper copy of the bulletin at the welcome tables near the entrances of the sanctuary. There’s a lot that happens here that we can’t always announce from the stage and we don’t want you to miss out on those things.

BEST (Boomers Engaged in Serving and Sharing Together) is hosting a lunch in the Bethany Café. We will discuss Medicare and Money, including 2026 Medicare changes, managing your money for a lifetime, giving wisely, and legacy planning for family, church, and community. Plan to join us and bring a friend—this event is open to anyone, regardless of church affiliation. Go to bethanycentral.org/best RSVP or call the church office.
We have a limited number of Story Bracelet Kits available at a table near the office entrance. Each kit includes 50 unassembled bracelets, and there are also single preassembled bracelets available. Take as many as you’d like to hand out to children who stop by your home on Halloween and share the Good News of Jesus Christ with them.
Join us this week for Sub Sandwiches! The cost is $3 for individuals with a $15 max per family. To help us plan, sign up using your MyBethany, or by calling the church office by Monday afternoon.
The Temple Builders Adult Bible Fellowship, that meets in room 807, will be starting a new series in the month of October. The series is titled, “The Prophets for Beginners.”
Icebreaker: Would you rather never have to do laundry again or never have to wash dishes again? Or … would you rather your yard always be perfectly maintained or never have to do another house project?
Discussion 1: Mark goes out of his way to show that Jesus was truly dead — confirmed by the centurion, seen by the women, and buried by Joseph of Arimathea. Why is the certainty of Jesus’s death so essential to the gospel? What are the theological and personal implications if His death wasn’t real (as some say)?
Application 1: Jesus’s death wasn’t just a historical event — it’s meant to reshape our lives. Read Philippians 3:10, Romans 6:6, and Galatians 2:20. What does it mean to be someone who has “died with Christ”? Why is it important that we are “crucified with Christ”? What are these passages calling us to?
Discussion 2: The women go to the tomb expecting to anoint Jesus’s body, but instead find an angel and the news that “He has risen.” Why do you think their first response was fear and silence, not joy and proclamation? Do you think they eventually shared the news?
Application 2: Read 1 Corinthians 15:12-19. Why is the good news of the resurrection so important to the Christian faith? Read Ephesians 1:18-20. Why did Paul pray that Ephesians believers would understand the power “for us who believe … when he raised Christ?” What is Paul saying in this passage, and why does he tie it directly to the resurrection?
Discussion 3: Jesus appeared first to Mary Magdalene and then to others, but the disciples didn’t believe at first. Why do you think there was so much doubt among them? Why do you think they struggled to believe even after Jesus had predicted His death and resurrection?
Application 3: Jesus is patient with our doubts, but He still calls us to believe and have faith. Is there an area where you’re still wrestling with doubt? Are you willing to share your doubts with God? Are you willing to share them with other believers? What might hold you back from sharing your doubts in a safe environment?
