Sunday Worship
Weekly Schedule
This week is promotion Sunday! We are looking forward to welcoming children to their new fall grade levels. Your child will meet in their new rooms with their Sunday School and Children’s Church classes.
Our Children’s Ministry team is looking for volunteers to help serve in Sunday School, Children’s Church, nursery, and to help on our “buddy teams.” This is a great way to serve the church family, and to invest in advancing the Gospel for our children. Go to bethanycentral.org/servekids to learn more.
We are praising God for a wonderful Summer Celebration service. We celebrated with those who were baptized and gave testimony to what God has done in their life. The leadership vote was successful and we welcome a new elder as well as several new Deacons and Deaconesses.

The first Wednesday of the month from 6:30-7:30pm you can take part in a special time of prayer. The group will meet in the sanctuary. Email Josh Moon JMoon-Elder@bethanycentral.org, for more information and any questions.
Moments is hosting playdates this summer. Any mom with a child 0-5 is welcome to come, so invite your pre-k mom friends! The next playdate will be hosted by Summer Hoyt at her home. Reach out to Kristi Plumier at krplumier@gmail.com for location and to RSVP.
For those who want to have their child dedicated but have never attended the class. We will cover what child dedication is, basic parenting principles, and give an overview of Bethany resources. Contact the church office to register.
The next dedication will be held on 8/25.
The New Creations ABC is starting a new lesson series entitled “Introduction to Biblical Doctrine: Know What You Believe”. The intent of the series is to answer questions about biblical doctrine and discuss what we believe at Bethany. The series also aims to better equip us all to explain and discuss our faith and biblical beliefs to unbelievers. New Creations meets in Room 816 at 9:00 AM.
Icebreaker Question
Each member of the group writes down a funny or weird story from their life. Mix them up and try to guess who wrote which story.
Discussion Questions
Daniel 8 presents a vision of a ram, a goat, and a horned creature, each with specific symbolic significance. What do you think these symbolize, and how do they relate to historical events and figures during the time of Daniel?
The vision in this passage shows a conflict between empires, culminating in God’s victory. What truth can we take from the conflict and victory of God in this passage for the spiritual conflict happening today? (2 Cor 10:4-5)
If you’d been the one to have this vision, how would you feel? What would your reaction be?
Application Questions
The visions in Daniel 8 can be challenging to interpret, requiring study and reliance on God’s guidance. How can you cultivate a deeper understanding of prophetic passages like Daniel 8 through prayer, study, and reliance on the Holy Spirit?
God provided Gabriel to help Daniel understand the vision. How has He equipped you for the tasks He calls you to do? How does God provide wisdom to understand difficult parts of Scripture? (See 1 Cor 2:6-16)
Despite his emotional state, Daniel got up and did his job. What work needs to be done in your life despite your circumstances, emotions, or even weakness?
