Sunday Worship
Weekly Schedule
We are starting the second part of the book of Mark this week. To help you engage with the series we’ve created a new notebook for sermon notes, group discussion, and prayer requests. You can pick up a copy on your way into the sanctuary or get a digital version at bethanycentral.org/notebook.
We are praising God for all the work He did during the week of VBS. We had 282 volunteers (130 of whom were student volunteers!), 442 children, and 126 children from the YMCA. We are praising God for over $3,500 raised towards our GO Partner Project. To celebrate all that God did we will be showing a short review video during the service this week.

We are thanking God for fathers and those who have taken the role as father. To celebrate Father’s Day we have chocolates for every man as you exit the service this morning. Don’t miss yours!

Our Malawi missionaries would appreciate donations of old laptops or iPads for their students. Additionally, one of our GO partners is experiencing computer issues—if you have a 2019–2022 MacBook Pro available for sale or donation, please let us know. Donations can be dropped off at the church office. For questions or to arrange a donation, email jimmy@bethanycentral.org. The final date for donations is June 27.
Join us Wednesday nights this summer as we dive into the Book of Ecclesiastes in our new men’s Bible study, Life Under the Sun. Together, we’ll wrestle with life’s biggest questions—meaning, purpose, justice, and joy—and discover how true wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord. Sign up using your myBethany or go to bethanycentral.org/ecclstudy.
Throughout the year, Bethany offers ongoing and short-term Ladies’ Bible Studies that meet at various times throughout the week. We have morning, afternoon, and evening classes. There are several options to study either Jesus in the Psalms or Proverbs 3:5-6 this summer!
The New Creations Adult Bible Fellowship (Room 816) will soon begin a new series soon. The series will go through the book of Genesis, and everyone is invited to join.
All ladies are invited to attend a wedding shower in the Bethany Café to celebrate Karisa Peters’ marriage to Ben Schellenberg. Karisa is registered at Walmart and Amazon.
Icebreaker: Have you ever had a moment where you felt completely out of your depth — where a situation was just too big for you? What happened?
Discussion 1: Jesus expresses frustration by saying, “O faithless generation, how long am I to be with you?” Why do you think Jesus responded that way? Whom do you think He was speaking to — the disciples, the crowd, or both? What does this reveal about the role of faith in His ministry?
Application 1: Jesus’s words challenge a lack of faith even among those close to Him. Are there areas in your life where you rely more on your own ability than on God? Are there times when you faith feels weaker or stronger? Why do you think that is?
Discussion 2: The boy’s father expresses both faith and doubt in one sentence when he says, “I believe; help my unbelief.” Why do you think Jesus honored such an honest and conflicted statement? What does this teach us about the nature of real faith?
Application 2: Why doesn’t faith have to be perfect to be powerful? What does that show us about faith? Is there an area where you can honestly bring both your belief and your doubts to Jesus?
Discussion 3: Jesus makes a powerful claim about the possibilities of faith. What do you think He meant by “all things are possible”? How should we understand this promise in the context of God’s will and purpose?
Application 3: Jesus invites us to believe that with God, nothing is impossible. Is there a situation in your life right now that feels impossible or out of reach? How can you step forward in faith, trusting that Jesus can work even when things seem hopeless?
