Weekly Schedule
VBS is three weeks away! Now is the time to start registering your children for VBS. You can use your myBethany or the website to register. We also need many of you to volunteer to jump in and help us make VBS a reality this year. Visit bethanycentral.org/vbs to register your kids or to volunteer.
There is an opportunity to be baptized at our next Summer Celebration service in July. If you are interested in participating, email info@bethanycentral.org or call the church office. Connect with us to begin the process or to talk with someone from our ministry staff team with any questions or concerns you may have.

SummerFest is a special youth group event for 4 Wednesdays each summer. The theme this year is Summer of Courage. It’s a time of fellowship, fun, and teaching from guest speakers. It runs from 6-8:30pm on June 11th at Cottonwood, June 18th at the Plattner’s, July 9th at the Gray’s, and July 16th at Bethany. Go to bethanycentral.org/summerfest for more details and locations of each meeting place.
Ladies of all ages are invited to Hobby Night in the Lakeside area. Bring whatever project you’re working on and a snack, and work together while you enjoy each other’s company! Come when you can, leave when you have to. For questions, contact Abby Pfeiffer at abby@bethanycentral.org.
Icebreaker: If you had the power to create any single type of food on command what would it be? How would you use that power?
Discussion 1: Jesus expressed compassion for the crowd and miraculously fed them with seven loaves and a few small fish. How did this miracle emphasize Jesus’s care for both physical and spiritual needs? What do you notice about how the disciples participated in the miracle?
Application 1: Jesus first met the physical needs of the people around Him and then sought to meet their deeper spiritual needs. Have you seen meeting physical needs lead others to spiritual awakening? How can our attentiveness to the physical needs and care of others open doors to caring for them spiritually as well?
Discussion 2: Despite witnessing or hearing about Jesus’s miracles, the Pharisees demanded another sign to test Him. Why do you think Jesus refused their request, and what does this reveal about the nature of true faith?
Application 2: Faith doesn’t always come from seeing more signs but from trusting in Jesus and what He has already revealed. Do you ever find yourself waiting for more “proof” before fully trusting God? What is our “more sure word” (2 Peter 1:19)?
Discussion 3: Jesus warned the disciples to beware of the “leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod,” but they misunderstood and focused on their lack of bread. What do you think Jesus meant by the leaven of the Pharisees? What about the leaven of Herod? What is Jesus trying to illustrate with the idea of leaven?
Application 3: Jesus warned about spiritual influences that can draw us away from God. Are there influences in your life that might be negatively affecting your faith? Is media (music, movies, content) drawing you away from God? What attitudes in our culture negatively influence you? How can we combat these types of leaven in our lives?
