Sunday Worship
Weekly Schedule
This November, our Compassion Offering will support those impacted by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica. We invite you to bring a special donation this Sunday to help Samaritan’s Purse provide vital relief and care to those affected. You can contribute to the Compassion Offering by visiting bethanycentral.org/compassion or by giving to the Compassion Fund after each service this week.
Each year, we have the privilege of blessing our GO Partners with a special Christmas gift. If you’d like to contribute, envelopes will be available throughout November on tables in the foyer as you leave the sanctuary and in your ABC rooms. You can also give online at bethanycentral.org/gogive.
Join us for our end-of-year celebration as we thank God for all He has done through our Know Their Story gospel focus — including hearing more than 1,600 stories so far this year. We’re praying for 400 more before the year ends and looking forward to celebrating together as a church family. Please RSVP at bethanycentral.org/feast so we can plan accordingly. When you RSVP, you’ll also find instructions for bringing a side or dessert to share.
Announcements
We will begin collecting shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child starting this Sunday. Look for the Samaritan’s Purse tables in the foyer. Bring great joy — and the Good News — to children in need around the world. Ready-made boxes are available at the Samaritan’s Purse tables.
Throughout November we’re saying a big THANK YOU to all our Children’s Ministry volunteers. If you serve in Nursery, Awana, Sunday School, Buddies, or Children’s Church, please stop by the Nursery Check-In desk to pick up a small gift of appreciation.
Parents, Post-It note stations will be outside each classroom. Take a moment to write a short note of encouragement and place it on the classroom door for volunteers to see as they arrive.
Come enjoy dinner, meaningful conversation, and prayer as we explore what it looks like to share our faith in everyday life. This will be a relaxed evening with good food, good friends, and a focus on personal evangelism. Go to bethanycentral.org/summit to RSVP.
Join the ladies of Bethany for an evening of fellowship, food, and devotion. Anna Sceggel will lead us down the Emmaus Road with a meaningful devotion and fun activities, followed by snacks and connection. Discover how community thrives when Christ is at the center!
We will be sending letters to our college students in a few weeks letting them know that we are praying for them. We are collecting $10 gift cards to send to our college students! If you have a college student, please send their address to abby@bethanycentral.org by November 11. If you would like to donate gift cards, please turn them into the office by November 11.
Join us for our upcoming BEST lunch in the Bethany Café as we enjoy a special time of “Worshipping Across Generations” with guest speaker Kyler Bell, our Senior High Youth Pastor. We’ll also share in singing hymns together. Please RSVP online through myBethany or by calling the church office.
Icebreaker: Have you ever committed to something that felt like a burden at first, but later you were thankful you stuck with it? What changed your perspective?
Application 1: Peter reminds Jesus that the disciples have left everything to follow Him, and Jesus responds that anyone who sacrifices for the sake of God’s kingdom will receive far more in return. What types of sacrifices generally come to mind when you think of Christ’s words? What things do you think of that you personally have had to give up for Jesus? How have you seen God’s generosity meet you in those moments of obedience?
Application 2: Jesus’ promise isn’t just about heavenly reward — it’s about the richness of life with Him now. How does living for God’s kingdom make your everyday life more meaningful? In what ways has your service to Christ brought unexpected joy or deeper purpose?
Application 3: Serving God often requires perseverance. When have you felt weary in doing good (Gal. 6:9), and what helped you keep going? How might remembering Jesus’ words here renew your motivation to keep serving faithfully even when you want to give up? What are some strategies to help us keep going in the midst of frustration or weariness?
Application 4: Jesus assures His followers that no one who gives up anything for Him will be left empty-handed. How can this truth reshape your attitude toward the time, energy, or possessions you invest in God’s work? What’s one area of your life where you sense God inviting you to trust that He can never be outgiven — or outserved?
