Highlights
Hands of Grace Food Drive - FINAL WEEK

The Hands of Grace food pantry collection is wrapping up this week. This year’s focus is on canned fruits, vegetables, and meats to help meet specific needs in our community. Please make sure all items are unexpired before donating. Visit bethanycentral.org/handsofgrace to donate or volunteer to help the ministry beyond providing food goods. Look for the food collection table in front of the church office.

The Table & The Anvil: Small Gatherings, Real Connection

The Table (for women) and The Anvil (for men) are small gatherings designed to help you build community and share life together. These are small group gatherings hosted by people from our church, happening at various times and locations to fit your schedule. Each gathering is unique. Whether you’re eating a meal together or enjoying a fun activity together, it’s a chance to meet new people and enjoy genuine fellowship. Visit bethanycentral.org/gatherings to browse all available gatherings and sign up!

Christmas Night of Worship

Celebrate the joy of Christmas and the incredible gift of Jesus at our Christmas Night of Worship! Enjoy an evening filled with carols, Christmas classics, and beloved songs that help us reflect on the gift of our precious Savior, Jesus. Stay afterward for a time of dessert and fellowship with festive treats.

This Season, Let Us Pray With You

It is our desire to be praying for you in every season of life. You can go to bethanycentral.org/prayer or use the Bethany app to share a prayer request or praise so that our leaders, staff, prayer team, and church family can be praying for you personally.

We also now have a Prayer Wall in the foyer, where you can write your prayer needs on a card and post them for others to lift up throughout the week. As we enter the holiday season—a time that can be joyful for some and difficult for others—please know that we would love to pray with you and for you.

Discussion Questions

Icebreaker: If you could hand off one area of your life for someone else to manage perfectly for a week, what would it be and why? What might cause you to hesitate handing that over to them?

Application 1: Abraham’s test in this passage comes after years of walking with God. How does knowing that background change the way you see his obedience here? What helps you keep trusting God when obedience feels costly or confusing? What stories of faithfulness can you tell from your journey of walking with God?

Application 2: As Abraham climbed the mountain, he told Isaac, “God Himself will provide the lamb.” How does that statement reveal Abraham’s faith, even before he saw God’s provision? What would it look like for you to speak and live with the same confidence in God’s faithfulness when you face uncertainty?

Application 3: When the ram appears in place of Isaac, God reveals Himself as Jehovah Jireh, “The Lord will provide.” How has God shown Himself as your provider — physically, emotionally, or spiritually — when you’ve chosen to obey Him even at personal cost?

Application 4: Ultimately, this story points forward to the cross, where God did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all (Romans 8:32). What does it mean to you that God’s generosity came through suffering? How can remembering that “we can’t outsuffer God” strengthen your trust when obedience feels costly or painful, knowing His provision and purpose always exceed our sacrifice?
