Sunday Worship
Weekly Schedule
Collection for Operation Christmas Child is now underway! Bring great joy — and the Good News — to children in need around the world by packing a shoebox. Ready-made boxes are available at the Samaritan’s Purse tables in the foyer near the gym entrance, or you can build a box online at bethanycentral.org/occ.
The Hands of Grace food pantry is organizing another collection starting next Sunday. This year’s focus is on canned fruits, vegetables, and meats to help meet specific needs in our community. Please make sure all items are unexpired before donating. Visit bethanycentral.org/handsofgrace to donate or volunteer to help the ministry beyond providing food goods.
Join us for our end-of-year celebration as we thank God for all He has done through our Know Their Story gospel focus — including hearing more than 1,600 stories so far this year. We’re praying for 400 more before the year ends and looking forward to celebrating together as a church family. Please RSVP at bethanycentral.org/feast so we can plan accordingly. When you RSVP, you’ll also find instructions for bringing a side or dessert to share.
Announcements
There is still time to give to our collection as it continues for the next two weeks. You can pick up an envelope to give at one of our welcome tables in the foyer or in your ABC rooms. Or give online at bethanycentral.org/gogive.
Throughout November we’re saying a big THANK YOU to all our Children’s Ministry volunteers. If you serve in Nursery, Awana, Sunday School, Buddies, or Children’s Church, please stop by the Nursery Check-In desk to pick up a small gift of appreciation.
Parents, Post-It note stations will be outside each classroom. Take a moment to write a short note of encouragement and place it on the classroom door for volunteers to see as they arrive.
Join the ladies of Bethany for an evening of fellowship, food, and devotion. Anna Sceggel will lead us down the Emmaus Road with a meaningful devotion and fun activities, followed by snacks and connection. Discover how community thrives when Christ is at the center!
We will be sending letters to our college students in a few weeks letting them know that we are praying for them. We are collecting $10 gift cards to send to our college students! If you have a college student, please send their address to abby@bethanycentral.org by November 11. If you would like to donate gift cards, please turn them into the office by November 11.
Join us for our upcoming BEST lunch in the Bethany Café as we enjoy a special time of “Worshipping Across Generations” with guest speaker Kyler Bell, our Senior High Youth Pastor. We’ll also share in singing hymns together. Please RSVP online through myBethany or by calling the church office.
Icebreaker: If money weren’t an issue, what’s one cause, person, or project you’d love to invest 1 million dollars into?
Application 1: Paul commends the Macedonian believers for giving generously despite their own hardships. When have you seen someone give sacrificially and inspire others to do the same? What does their example teach you about trusting God with your resources rather than clinging to them?
Application 2: In chapter 9, Paul says that “God loves a cheerful giver” (vs. 7). Why do you think our attitude in giving matters so much to God? What do you think it looks like to be a “cheerful giver”?
Application 3: Paul describes generosity as “sowing seed” that God multiplies for harvest. Where do you see opportunities right now to “plant” generosity in your life? How might you trust God with the timing and results rather than trying to control the outcome?
Application 4: Paul concludes with the reminder that generosity leads to thanksgiving to God and strengthens the faith of others. When people see your generosity, what picture of God do they receive? How can you use what you have — money, time, skills, or encouragement — to make His generosity visible in someone’s life this week?
