Highlights
Congregational Meeting
Sunday, September 29, 6:00 pm

We’re just one week away from our Congregational Meeting. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn how God is working through our church’s ministries. Everyone is invited—whether you’re a member or not! After the meeting, stay for a time of dessert and fellowship as we welcome our new members. We hope to see you there!

Nametag Sunday
Sunday, October 06

At Bethany we love to use name badges to help people get to know us and make guests feel welcome. Please be sure to wear your name tag on October 6th. If you’ve never had one or need a replacement please visit or contact the church office to have one made for you in preparation for name tag Sunday.

Pray the Miracle

As we continue to pray for 2 people close to you but far from God we want to let you know of a few opportunities to continue to grow in evangelism. First, is the weekly evangelism challenge. It’s not too late to sign up for that! You can go to bethanycentral.org/praythemiracle and sign up today to start the challenge at any time.

Second, is an upcoming equip class during first service starting October 13th in Rm 813. The class will teach you how to use evangelistic tools to help share your faith.

Discussion Questions

Icebreaker
What is the best piece of feedback (or compliment) you have ever received?

Discussion Questions
What is the “evidence of the righteous judgement of God?” What do you think Paul is referring to with this phrase?

What insights into God’s justice does this passage give us? Where does Paul say our “relief” will eventually come from in this world? What do we have to look forward to?

Verse 9 says that unbelievers will “suffer the punishment of eternal destruction.” What impact do these verses have on the way you view evangelism and sharing the gospel? Does knowing the end shape how you think about the choices you have made in your own life?

Application Questions
How is God’s justice different from the justice of the world? In what ways do you see our human concept at odds with God’s divine version of justice?

How can trusting in God’s justice bring comfort in your life? What might not trusting in His justice lead you to do? Have you seen other Christians or non-Christians snared by a desire for justice that they took into their own hands or heart?

In light of God’s promise of retribution and relief, how can you cultivate trust in God’s justice rather than seeking to take it into your own hands? Are there times that you “don’t like” God’s mercy? Why or why not?
