Who did God set apart to serve Him in the Tabernacle? What Family?
God set apart Aaron and his sons from the tribe of Levi to serve Him in the Tabernacle. This family, the Levites, were chosen to be the priests and take care of the Tabernacle, making sure everything was done just the way God wanted.
What kinds of things did God tell Moses to do to Aaron and his sons to set them apart to serve Him? How long did they do this? Where were they?
God told Moses to do several things to set Aaron and his sons apart for service. They were washed, given special clothes, anointed with oil, and sacrifices were made for them. They had to stay in the Tabernacle for seven days as part of their dedication to God, preparing them for their special role as priests.
What happened on the 8th Day? How did God appear?
On the 8th day, after Aaron and his sons were set apart, they offered sacrifices just as God had commanded. God appeared to all the people in a powerful way by sending fire that came down and consumed the offering on the altar. This showed everyone that God was with them and that He accepted their offerings.
What did Nadab and Abihu do some time later in the Tabernacle? What happened to them?
Nadab and Abihu, who were Aaron’s sons, made a big mistake by offering “strange fire” that God had not commanded. Because they didn’t follow God’s instructions, fire from the Lord came out and burned them up, and they died. This was a serious reminder that God’s instructions must be followed carefully.
What does this story teach us?
This story teaches us that God is holy and that we should always respect and follow His instructions. It also shows us the importance of doing things God’s way, not just our own way, because God knows what is best.
