What is the first thing Israel rejected? What did they want?

The first thing Israel rejected was the special food called manna that God gave them from heaven. Instead, they wanted meat to eat because they were tired of the manna.

Did Israel remember their time in Egypt rightly? What should this teach us about sin?

No, Israel didn’t remember their time in Egypt correctly. They forgot how hard and painful it was and only remembered the food. This teaches us that sometimes we might remember bad times in a good way, which can make us want to go back to things that are not good for us, just like sin can trick us into thinking it’s better than it really is.

What did Moses do to help him carry the burden of all the people? Who did the Holy Spirit come and rest on? What did Moses wish for?

Moses asked God for help because he felt overwhelmed by all the complaining from the people. God told him to gather 70 leaders, and the Holy Spirit came and rested on them to help lead the people. Moses wished that everyone in Israel could have the Holy Spirit, not just the leaders.

When God sent quail to Israel, how much did he send? How much did each person gather? How does this show what was in their hearts?

God sent so much quail that it covered the ground for miles! Each person gathered a lot—almost 500 gallons each! This shows that the people were not just grateful; they were greedy and wanted more than they needed, which showed they didn’t fully trust God to provide for them.

What did Aaron and Miriam complain about? What was the second thing that they rejected?

Aaron and Miriam complained about Moses’s leadership and questioned why he was the only one that God spoke to. The second thing they rejected was the special position that God had given Moses as His chosen leader.

What does Numbers 11-12 teach us?

These chapters teach us that it’s important to trust God and be thankful for what He provides. They also show us that God cares for us and wants us to be happy, but sometimes we forget that and want things that aren’t good for us.
