An excited group of travelers left for NYC this morning from the Peoria airport. One unexpected treat was meeting a sweet saint from New Castle Bible Church who was traveling on her own to NYC. She was so encouraged to be adopted by our team while we traveled.

On arriving in LaGuardia, we were promptly picked up by Spread Truth and taken to our hotel. Jerry and his wife met us as we got registered and signed in. They gave us a draw string bag, a t-shirt, and a metro pass.

As a team, we decided to go on the Staten Island ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. After that, we saw ground zero and the One World Trade Center.

While I was eating dinner with Sully we heard the news about the assassination attempt against President Trump. The stunned shock I felt soon gave way to relief as we discovered that the president had survived. An event like this provided an important opportunity to teach Sully about the sovereignty of God and the depravity of man.

The teenagers and Val Wichael and Isaac Downing walked the Brooklyn bridge tonight which is right by our hotel. We were thankful that Kara and Sarah made it safely as they were traveling together with a different flight itinerary.
