This morning Sully and I found a little NY shop where we could buy coffee and bagels. Later in the day quite a few of us from the team picked up groceries at Trader Joe’s which is walking distance from the hotel.
We all went to church together at Times Square Church. It was a different style of service and message for sure. But I was blessed by the message that was mostly rooted in Jeremiah 7.
Some of us then went to Times Square and had lunch there. I was struck by the sinfulness that I saw there and the disparity between the love and holiness of the Church in Times Square and the world in Times Square could not have been more stark. I thank God that we have an opportunity to serve and share Christ here.
We gathered at 6:30pm with all the Spread Truth participants for worship and information. There are well over 125 people here this week. We met our Cord leaders (people who are assigned to guide us as we do outreach). I was relieved by the spiritual maturity and experience of these men who are leading us.
We ended the night by walking to a beautiful lookout spot where we could view Manhattan and pray for the city. We are very excited for tomorrow!
