I had a rough night and spent most of the day at Rachel’s sleeping off some sickness. Rachel’s team was working through some Greek lessons. How exciting is it that these brothers in Jos are learning how to read and understand the original languages so that they can make an accurate translation into their own tongue?

After lunch, we all gathered our things and began our journey out to Kubacha where the SIL Nigeria field office is located. This is right in the heart of the Miya-Waci villages. It took us 3-4 hours to travel to Kabucha. The village is not far away from Jos, but the conditions of the roads require careful and often slow driving to avoid major pot holes that could seriously damage the vehicle. Evan and I were thankful for Rachel’s extensive training- as a girl she mastered Mario Kart and in recent years she received special training on driving in these kinds of conditions.

We arrived safely and were able to get comfortable before it got dark. The village children make themselves at home in the residence where we are staying and we got to enjoy the African sunset.
