What a full and powerful first day in New York City!
We kicked off the morning with a solid breakfast and got officially registered with SpreadTruth, the ministry we’re partnering with this week.
Then we had the opportunity to worship with Redeemer Brooklyn, a church plant from Redeemer Downtown, originally founded by the late Tim Keller. It was such a joy to experience the heart of the city through the local church, but it wasn’t Bethany 🙂
After the service, we all jumped on the subway and made our way to the World Trade Center, where we even bumped into some familiar faces from Bethany—what a surprise blessing!
We spent the afternoon walking through the 9/11 Memorial Museum, a sobering and meaningful reminder of the brokenness in our world and the hope we carry as Christ’s ambassadors.
Tonight was opening night with SpreadTruth! Pastor Isaac led us in a powerful time of worship, we heard an encouraging word, received our instructions, and found out which “cord” (group) we’ll be part of for the week. Our team has been placed in Cord 9, and tomorrow we’ll be heading to Union Square!
In the morning, after our morning worship session, we’ll be hosting a Story Wall—offering to pray with people in the park. After a quick lunch break, we’ll shift to evangelistic conversations, engaging directly with people in Union Park.
Please pray for:
- Boldness and clarity as we share the gospel
- Divine appointments with people who are open and searching
- That our team would stay united, encouraged, and Spirit-led
We’re excited for what God is going to do!
