We awoke at the hotel and loaded our stuff up into the bus where we were going to spend the next four hours. We then drove to Riobamba, with a quick stop at KFC on the way. Ecuadorian KFC is much better than American KFC btw.

We arrived at Codeinse, and were very surprised and pleased with the accommodations and how nice they were. The girls and guys each got a small building to stay in (which had mattresses in them, to the great delight of us all), and there was a kitchen/gathering room with a fireplace, couches, and a spacious kitchen, which was very nice. There were two cows, a few goats, a bunch of chickens and turkeys and a ton of guinea pigs, which we fell in love with (even though they are an Ecuadorian delicacy).

After taking some time to settle in, unpack, and clean the kitchen, we ate a lovely meal of tacos, played games, and had a team meeting to prepare for visiting the community the next day. We spent time sharing what we were thankful for, which included both fun things, such as oxygen, and deep things, like the potential for a new perspectives on life in the states and on following the great commission. We received some incredibly encouraging words from Cesar, as well as many stories. We very much look forward to helping out at the community we’re going to.

The highlights of our trip would be eating at KFC, and seeing the farm we’re staying at. We are incredibly thankful for this opportunity and want to thank everyone who has been praying for us throughout this trip. It means a lot, knowing we have a faithful church family back home.
