We spent the first couple of hours in the morning worshipping and training for evangelism. The phrase of the morning from Jerry was “You never know what’s on the other side of obedience.”

Our first day was spent doing evangelistic prayer. It was a little different than prayer stations, but I feel like our group really got into it.

One man gave his heart to Christ after talking with our cord leader, Craig. A man named Daniel poured out his heart to a group of us after we prayed with him. Another lady shared some deep struggles with depression that she is dealing with. All in all most of us got to pray and talk with around 3-5 different people today. I would say that we easily had around 80-90 spiritual conversations if you count both groups of ten.

Jeff, the cord leader who was with most of our teenagers, was extremely impressed by our young people. He told me that they seemed to really grasp the gospel and that they were able to articulate and even defend it. I was so proud to hear that!

The thought that kept hitting me today was that a lot of the people who talked with me knew a lot about God and about Jesus, but they weren’t connected to a church. They seemed to be untaught disciples like sheep without shepherds.

It was very hot so we stopped a little early- around 3:30pm or so. This evening a group of us went to Little Italy and Chinatown. What a blessed day?
