Today we went to Washington park. We used world view surveys to start conversations with people. One joy for me was talking to three college students girls from Paris. I was able to show them the Story App on my phone and it really helped because it was in French. We ended up having a deep conversation about science, knowledge, and the exclusive claims of Christianity.

We had to be creative about finding bathrooms because the public ones were closed until 3:00pm. Nobody lets you use there bathrooms around here without buying something. But we made it work!

I am so proud of our group and the courage that they are showing.

One element of the week that is really powerful is the prayer cord. For those who feel led, they can hang back on Tuesday or Wednesday and join together with others from different groups who are praying for the whole effort here in the city.

A group of us went back to ground zero following our work in the park. We went through the museum there. It was emotionally moving. I couldn’t help but think about all the lives that were touched by that event. And yet, as catastrophic as it was, life has returned to its normal ebb and flow in the city. But if you prod a little at the people living here, you’ll realize that that event is pretty deeply effecting them to this day. My prayer for NYC is that God would continue to use 9-11 to draw these people to Him. May the Lord have mercy and save many of them from the greater day of catastrophe that is coming for the whole world.
